Privacy policy
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR SOUTH AFRICAN CUSTOMERS
We process personal information in accordance with POPIA. Depending on the purpose, we rely on your consent, steps needed to enter into or perform a contract with you, legal obligations, or a legitimate interest recognised by law. Visiting our website does not, by itself, constitute consent to every use of your information.
Orders and preorders
We use your contact details, delivery address and transaction information to process orders, provide preorder updates, arrange delivery and manage cancellations, returns and refunds. If you do not provide information necessary for these purposes, we may be unable to complete your order.
Payments
When you choose Yoco at checkout, Yoco processes the payment information needed to complete your transaction. We receive transaction information needed to confirm payment, manage your order and process refunds. Please do not send full payment-card details, PINs or security codes by email or chat.
Customer chat
When you contact us through Shopify Inbox, we process the name, email address and messages you provide to answer your enquiry and assist with your order. Providing details for customer support does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
Marketing choices
We send electronic direct marketing with your consent or where otherwise permitted by POPIA’s existing-customer provisions. You may decline marketing or unsubscribe at any time without affecting your ability to purchase or receive customer support. Essential order and delivery messages may still be sent.
Your rights
Subject to applicable legal requirements, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion of information we are no longer entitled to retain. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Contact info@trylocals.com to make a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity. Some records must be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve outstanding transactions.
International processing
Shopify and other service providers may process information outside South Africa. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we will do so on a basis permitted by section 72 of POPIA, including appropriate legal or contractual protections where required.
Complaints
You may contact us about a privacy concern or lodge a complaint directly with South Africa’s Information Regulator. Information about submitting a complaint is available at:
